based on a facebook image some family liked, this modular irish castle asset pack is on its way to completion. so far, there are roughly 85 pieces and 71,894 faces (railings are expensive and require lots of variations!). the end goal is to build a small environment in unreal engine to serve as my demo reel.

interior pieces and doors were more from imagination, as the image i saw was just an exterior shot. stairs were built as individual steps before realizing that it would ultimately be more efficient for a level designer to use an entire staircase instead.

possible measurement differences in an arrangement have been accounted for. the wall trim is able to cover any wall width, and the railings account for adjacencies to windows, balconies, turns, or stairs.

many window and doorway types were developed so that individual wall pieces wouldn’t have to be made; by breaking them down into walls vs window sills, there is more freedom and less confusion on which wall is what.

close-up of the exterior doors. pivot points are set so that the knocker, lock, and door swing can be animated properly.

test assembly block. this was deleted and redone multiple times throughout the modeling process to ensure that the pieces could work together; doing so also led to the development of multiple other pieces.

next step is to add some final exterior balcony and stair pieces before developing the high-poly versions and tileable textures.
